Edward M. Weinstein, Architecture & Planning, P.C. is a firm comprised of talented design and planning professionals who are dedicated to helping
our clients achieve the realization of their goals and objectives. Through a collaborative
process that includes creative design and effective project management, we bring projects to
successful fruition while being mindful of scheduling and budgetary constraints.
Services:
EMWPC provides comprehensive services that nurture a project from the preliminary stages of
site investigation and feasibility analysis through master planning, space programming, architectural
design and construction management. Our planning and architectural teams have extensive experience
working on new construction, renovation, restoration and rehabilitation of many building
types.
The services we provide to individuals, developers, institutions, government
agencies, community groups and corporations include:
Initial Site Investigation and Feasibility
Studies
We understand the importance of assisting clients with zoning and regulatory analyses to explore
the development potential of a site. Awareness of unique development options and of potential
impediments can guide the decision-making process to avoid costly mistakes and make more
accurate decisions regarding the development potential of a project site. This preliminary
site review can include site plan design studies as well as initial discussions with regulatory
agencies, local communities and elected officials.
Master Planning and Facility Space Programming
The crucial first step in any design project is to fully understand our clients’ programmatic
requirements - the size and function of each space. We work closely with our clients on this
phase so that the end result is a fully responsive and highly functional building or space.
Architecture
and Engineering
Based on the needs of each project and in consultation with our clients, we determine the right
team of consultants. Consultants may include structural, mechanical and civil engineers as
well as other specialists that might be required to deliver the best possible design product.
We work diligently to produce complete construction documents, geared to minimize changes
during the construction process.
Environmental and other Regulatory Approvals
Our extensive experience allows us to effectively guide each project through the regulatory
review process at all levels of government. We obtain approvals from diverse agencies including
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation,
municipal planning commissions and numerous other federal, state and local agencies.
Public
Participation
We are often called upon to coordinate and facilitate community workshops and design charrettes,
perform conflict assessments, and assist in consensus building and/or mediation. By involving
stakeholders at the early stages of a project we can help to minimize conflicts during the
approval process, thereby increasing the likelihood of community satisfaction and project authorization.
